Easter Project

For our Easter project we were asked to explore and take inspiration from our home or home enviroment....the first thing I thought of was the decayed old house near were I live....

After looking at decayed houses I began to just look and do observational drawings around my own house to see if I could find any interesting shapes and textures for my samples

 

After doing all my research I found my velvet couch in my living room the most interesting with it's triangular and button details. From this i decided to do my samples in red velvet.

 While experimenting with this fabric i done a few samples but realised that I found draping it on the maniquin a lot more interesting.

After doing a lot of experimentation I came up with my final design for my ranking project and an illustration to match

 

After doing my research and samples and identifying the points of interest I started working on the mannequin in order to start developing ideas for my final design

 

 

 

Ranking Project

        
For my ranking project I decided to base my project on memeries from childhood mainly the movie Alice in Wonderland

From images such as these, taken from  the Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland I took my inspiration for shapes and samples. After doing the full extent of my research I found the mad hatters licorice style tie one of the most interesting aspects of my project.
